Khan Noonien Singh

Tier: C+ — B-Movie Villain

Khan is the cautionary tale that every Evil Overlord List exists to prevent. A genetically engineered superhuman with intellect to match, undone entirely by ego. He’s smart enough to be terrifying, but emotionally fragile enough to be baited into his own destruction.

Key Findings

  • Fatal flaw: Ego. Superhuman intellect with a child’s emotional regulation. Kirk lives rent-free in his head.
  • Single preventable error: Default Starfleet prefix codes. If he’d changed them, the Enterprise would have been helpless.
  • Emotionally baited: Kirk taunted Khan into following him into the Mutara Nebula — Khan took the bait hook, line, and sinker.
  • Missed opportunity: Had the Genesis Device. Had a starship. Had the element of surprise. Threw it all away for revenge.

Top Violations

Rule Violation
E1 Didn’t kill the hero when he had the chance. Multiple times.
E6 Telegraphed his moves. “I’ll chase him around the moons of Nibia.”
E4 His allies (the Ceti eel victims) were unreliable at best.
M3 Trusted his underlings too much — didn’t verify the prefix codes were changed.
SP4 No backup plan. When the nebula plan failed, he had nothing.

Fate

Killed in the detonation of the Genesis Device, refusing to surrender. His final act was to quote Moby-Dick — proving, right to the end, that he saw himself as the hero of his own story.
